a successful but lonely novelist is clearing out his late mother’s house over Christmas and meets a woman in search of her birth mother. They head out on a road trip to track down her mother and reconcile him with his dad. She’s engaged to tax attorney Alan back home but, let’s get real, Alan is fucked. Really quite good!
